Sports or Deep Tissue Massage can relieve many types of muscle tightness from cramps to tight shoulders or necks.

Techniques release tension directly by kneading, stretching, friction or triggering tender points. By relieving tension, massage can help prevent injuries that might be caused by stressing unbalanced muscle groups, or by favouring or forcing a painful, restricted area. Sports massage is therefore becoming increasingly popular for everyone (not just athletes).

Sports Massage aids with the recovery of injuries from tendonitis, which develops over time, to ligament and muscle sprains/tears caused by accidents. It does this by reducing inflammation, increasing circulation, removing waste products and bringing nutrition to injured cells. Scar tissue around old injuries can be reduced and made more pliable.

Sports Massage can help to restore normal movement and posture by releasing trigger points, improving circulation and stretching shortened muscles that restrict joint movement. Sports massage can also work on abnormal spinal curvatures such as scoliosis by releasing the contracted muscles around it.

Regular scheduled Sports Massage sessions can speed injury or athletic recovery, and relieve secondary pain such as headaches, back pain or tensing of healthy muscles around an injury. Most of all, a Sports Massage will make you more aware of the stresses and strains in different areas of your body.
